Disability Rights
As a person with cerebral palsy, the full inclusion and empowerment of people with disabilities is personal to me. In Annapolis, I will advocate ensuring that every student with a disability has the supports and services they need to thrive.
The fact that there are 21,000 individuals in Maryland on a waiting list for Home and Community-Based Services is deeply troubling and I will work tirelessly with my colleagues to reduce and eliminate that list. Thirty-two (32) years after the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act the unemployment rate for people with disabilities is still too high and I will work to incentivize employers to hire people with disabilities and to motivate the building of accessible homes.
